For this pattern I used a 5.0mm hook and I Love This Cotton yarn in two colors
Color 1 – 7 skeins
Color 2 – 1 skein
Terms to Know:
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
fpdc – front post double crochet
bpdc – back post double crochet
dec – decrease
Terms Between ** will be repeated the specified amount
Terms Between () will be done in the same stitch
Let’s begin!
Rnd 1 – foundation hdc enough to go around your waist however tight or loose you want making sure its an even number. For me that was 166. Sl st to first making sure its not twisted
Rnd 2 – ch 2, dc around
Rnd 3 – ch 2, fpdc, bpdc repeat** around
Rnd 4 – ch 2, fpdc in each fpdc from previous, bpdc in each bpdc from previous
Repeat round 4 until it is the desired length for me this was 35 rounds repeating row 4 for a total of 39 rounds. You will judge this by putting the top of your work near where the bottom of a sleeve on another shirt sits and seeing where the bottom sits. I compared mine to a shirt that I like the length of.

Row 20 – ch 2 then turn, dec, *fpdc, bpdc* 5 times, fpdc, dc in ch 2 sp, FO being sure to leave a long enough tail to sew this to the top of the back panel

Row 20 – ch 2, *bpdc, fpdc* 5 times, bpdc, dec, dc in ch2 sp, FO leaving enough yarn to sew to back panel
Line both shoulder pieces to the top of the back panel matching the the furthest edges together and sew together
Start the sleeve border
Attach yarn color 2 to the bottom of the sleeve hole
Rnd 1 – ch 2, hdc in same st, *hdc, 2 hdc in next* repeat ** around, slst to first to close (101 stitches total)
Rnd 2 – ch 1, hdc around, slst to first and FO
Repeat on other sleeve
Start the bottom border
Attach yarn color 2 on the first stitch of your foundation hdcs facing the opposite direction
Rnd 1 – ch 1, hdc around (166)
Rnd 2 – ch 1, sk 1st st, *hdc, (dc, tr), (tr, dc), hdc, sl st to next* repeat ** around

Start the collar
Attach yarn color 2 to the first stitch of the Top Panel Part 2

Row 1 – hdc in each st and hdc in the spaces between rows (this will only happen every other Row where you’re working into a dc instead of a ch2, see image below for what that looks like) repeat this to where the front and back panel meet, when you reach the back panel put 1 hdc in each st, when you reach the other side of the front panel hdc in each st and hdc in the spaces between rows to the bottom of the panel split

Row 2 – ch 2 then turn, hdc around
Repeat Row 2 10 times for a total of 12 rows
And that’s it!
